I’ve been super busy this week (job interview) and doodled a picture of Razul, my incredibly grumpy dragon character, in his human form. His dragon-self is massive, and he’s only able to shrink his body to a certain point. He’s one of my tallest characters and has trouble getting through standard doorways, usually having to duck.
Click on it to get the real size. Tumblr blew it up for whatever reason.
I started this about a year ago and have been fussing around with the composition ever since. There still some adjustments to be made, but this is what I’m going with. Featured characters are Hazat (in blue) and Razul (in red/clay for the rest of his body). Hazat is the God of Memories and runs Seraph, the Vatican’s military with both a private and public face. He is bonded through a pact with the Bane Dragon Elder, Razul.
Title is Cardinal Sin.
I’ve been kind of busy this past week or so, but here’s an inking work in progress.
I was having a bad day when I started this on Monday. I haven’t drawn Belial in a while. I’ve changed his story a bit since last year (wow).
Belial is the God of Corruption, responsible for pretty much anything undead that shambles about in the world. He’s not very nice, and ended up getting into a fight with the Goddess of Wisdom after he tried to eat her. She smashed his face in with a mace (there are only a few weapons that can do this kind of damage to my god characters). Belial tried to heal off the damage, and was only able to do it partially. This is what’s left of the right side of his face. He generally keeps that large hole covered by his mask (which I have yet to settle on a design for).
I didn’t draw it, but there’s a large spider that lives inside of his eye socket. His eye presently resides in Caedus’ chest, giving him that wonderful black blood and horribly overpowered regenerative abilities.
I’m not sure which character is a bigger asshole. :|
I’ve been fussing with my novel world stuff most of this week, and decided it would make sense to combine Sammael and Arbatel into one character. I’m calling her Arbatel now (yes, the old design for the character is her true form) and she’s one of the deities in my novel’s world. For the moment, she’s the Goddess of Cruelty, Kerrigore’s old flame (see what I did there? nuk nuk), and Nathriel’s daughter.
Mistakes abound but it was nice to sketch something after a week of being so busy. That and my carpal tunnel is acting up again.
You're too cool to feel sad JoJo! As far as sketch requests go, uh, hmm... you can draw any one of my characters? Also, let me know when the reprints and new issues for Makeshift Man are available for sale. Must add to my collection.
<3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Jojo is radical. <3
more headshot commissions ; w ; belong to their owners! thanks again!
I got a very awesome commission from Moogs <3. Caedus my dear (top), you’re looking good.
I was messing around in Manga Studio and decided to finish a doodle I started at work. I’ve been down about art recently — ended up leaving DA to try to focus more on Tumblr, because I feel it’s a place I can post sketches and crap like this and be okay doing it.
So here’s Caedus. In a ponytail. I have no idea where this came from and probably isn’t going to be canon, but man, it makes me giggle. I needed some giggling.
Lol corpse man in a ponytail. He needs some shades…
I posted this here before about a year ago, and then ended up deleting the post because it was going to be part of another picture. Well, I haven’t worked on said picture and in light of the fact that I’ve moved on to other works, this is going back up here.
Meet Mortimer, Kerrigore’s pet eastern box turtle who isn’t actually a turtle but a mage of the same name who got turned into one and was gifted to Kerrigore for Christmas. Done in Copic Marker and touched up for my portfolio.
Just messing around. Caedus makes me happy. He’s Kaelus’ twin brother. Their souls are tethered to each other and they share a body. Referenced myself.
I’ll probably start inking the Kerrigore picture tomorrow.
I haven’t drawn a front view of Kerrigore’s face in a long time. I figured I’d do that to try and get his features right…ish. The nose isn’t correct but oh well. More practice, hoooo!
Kerrigore is my OC and one of the main characters of my novel.
So instead of working on other things (mainly graphic design for my portfolio) I ended up doing this. This is Kerrigore, one of the main characters from my novel project. I’m thinking about trying to paint this digitally, but I know it takes me ages to get any digital paintings done. I’ve been trying to do new things lately, but have realized that digital is kind of hard for me to enjoy. I’m not sure if it’s a case of me not actually liking digital or just not doing enough of it to like it.
I guess I’ll find out.
Until then Kerrigore and sharks. The title is Predator.
A work in progress. Caedus again. I don’t have a title for this one yet and am figuring out how exactly I want to finish it.
Kaelus. She used to be an angel until a malevolent force tried to take over her body, partly succeeding, and corrupted a portion of her soul. Now trapped inside of her, she fights constantly to keep him from getting out. Sometimes part of him breaks through, and sometimes he wins.
Photoshop and Sai. I keep trying to figure out a digital style I’m comfortable with and wanted to try some lighter colors with the one.
